Triage

Triage:

Triage is designed for major events - where a triage practitoner will screen incoming patients and add their details to a queue which can be picked up any staff working in the first aid post.

1) First, any one performing the triage role needs to be given triage access.  Go into Settings > User Management > Edit User and click the triage box.

2). The Triage user then commences a case as per normal, and fills in any relevant information.

3) The triage user will have a new tab, titled 'Triage' appear in their case sheet.

4) When clicking the triage button, the user is asked to enter some basic triage information.

By default, the attendant is removed from the case (leaving it blank so it can be picked up by someone working the first aid post).   If the triage clinician has entered a specific medic on the 'info' tab and would like it to remain with them, tick the 'Dont remove attendant from case' box - to ensure they are not cleared.

When looking at the triage queue - you will be able to see any cases with a direct assignment, or having no attendant.

When the medic wishes to start working on the case, they can click the 'claim' button to take the case OFF the triage board, and transfer it into their 'My Cases'.

Live incident feed:

The existing live incident feed (event options -> live inicident feed) has been updated to also show triaged cases, as well as cases in progress.    The triaged cases will be colour coded as per the same colours on the triage queue.

What do the triage categories 1,2,3,4,5 mean?

Thats up to you.  We don't specify.  You should have a policy that dictates what each triage category means.  At present there is no plans to allow you to customise the text in this dropdown.
